# Export and share

> Pack the theme into a .ejtheme, and what to do next.

When your theme is ready:

1. In `theme.json`, change the `id` (if you copied it from here, it must not be
   `ejemplo`), the `name`, the `author` and the `version`. If you can, add a
   `preview`.
2. Remove anything the folder does not need: **everything inside it is exported**.
3. Choose your theme in **Settings → Appearance** and press **Export .ejtheme**
   (it exports the active theme and asks where to save it). A `.ejtheme` is
   just a zip of the theme folder.

To install it on another PC: **Settings → Appearance → Import**, choose the
`.ejtheme`, and it is installed and selected. Useful details:

* It also accepts a `.zip` you made by hand, with `theme.json` at the root or
  inside a single folder.
* It is installed to `themes\<id>`. **If a theme with that `id` was already
  there, it replaces it.**
* You cannot import a theme with a built-in `id` ("The id «steam» belongs to a
  built-in theme; change it in theme.json").
* Limit: 200 MB uncompressed.

## What now?

* **[The reference](https://ej3mplo.mintlify.site/referencia/sdk.md)** has everything: achievements
  (`ejg.game.achievements()`), collections (`ejg.library.collections`),
  statistics (`ejg.stats`), trailers with `attachStream()`, crossfading
  backgrounds (`createBackdrop()`), art that fits any frame (`artFor()`)…
* The built-in themes are made with exactly the same tools. **Retro** is the
  simplest and **Steam** the most complete. You will find them in the `themes`
  folder of the installation (usually `%LOCALAPPDATA%\ejGames\themes`), and
  **Duplicate to edit** (Appearance) copies any of them into your themes folder
  so you can take it apart.
